映像テクノアカデミア映画学科映画映像編集クラス卒業。
2022年、綿密な取材をもとに児童相談所の光と影を描いた中編映画『ほどけそうな、息』が全国で公開。東京・ポレポレ東中野では公開後、連日満員を記録し、大きな反響を呼んだ。
2016年に全国順次公開された長編映画『月光』（監督／脚本／編集）では性暴力被害の実態を描き、NHK 総合「おはよう日本」で特集が組まれるなどメディアから大きな注目を集める。そして同映画は第32 回ワルシャワ国際映画祭インターナショナル・コンペティション部門に正式出品、その芸術性も高く評価されている。
親からの虐待を受けて育った少年少女を描いた長編第二作『風切羽～かざきりば～』（監督／脚本／編集）は、世界中からクオリティの高い芸術作品を選出することで名高い、第14 回全州国際映画祭（韓国）のインターナショナル・コンペティション部門の作品賞にあたる「Best Picture Prize」を受賞。同作は13 年6 月22 日より池袋シネマ・ロサほか全国16 館で劇場公開され、大きな反響を呼んだ。
長編第一作『こもれび』（監督／脚本／編集）は世界10 大映画祭のひとつ、第14 回上海国際映画祭（中国）等に正式招待されている。
他にも若者のホームレスや機能不全家族、ギャンブル依存症、特別養子縁組、外国人労働者問題といった切実な社会問題をテーマに映画を描き続けている。

【活動略歴】
某テーマパークでショーに出演しながら映画学校に通い、映画制作を学ぶ。
2005年、日独若手映画人交流ワークショップにて、ドイツ人映画監督Florian Gallenberger氏より、メソッド理論に則った映画演出技術を学ぶ。
2006年製作、あらすじだけの台本、リハーサルを重ねた即興演技で若者のホームレスの実体を丁寧に描いた短編映画『hard cold greenhouse』がドイツの第18回ドレスデン国際短編映画際に正式招待され、国内でも複数の映画祭で入選。
2007年製作、様々な悩みを抱えた客に、花の持つ意味や花言葉でその悩みを解決するという花屋を舞台にした短編シリーズ『Flowers』（docomo/au 携帯ドラマ・Vision Cast）の監督・脚本を務める。
2009年製作、飯田譲治監修、加藤和樹主演、引きこもりのダメ男が寿司職人を目指し、疎遠になっていた母親に寿司を握るという内容の短編オムニバス映画『最高でダメな男・築地編～Tsukiji流～』で商業映画監督デビューを果たす。
2010年製作、福島県を舞台に、父親の介護疲れが引き起こした過去の悲劇を引きずるペンションオーナーの男と、居場所を失い、そのペンションに住み込みで働くことになった女子大生の心の交流を繊細に描いた初の長編映画『こもれび』（英題：A Warm Ray of Light/ 監督・脚本・編集）が世界10大映画祭の一つ、第14回上海国際映画祭（中国）や、第6回カメラジャパンフェスティバル（オランダ）、第6回ライデン国際映画祭（オランダ）等に正式招待される。
2012年製作、児童養護施設から脱走した少女、サヤコ（秋月三佳）と、もう一人の自分を探し続ける不思議な少年、ケンタ（戸塚純貴）の一夜の逃避行を描いた中編映画「風切羽」（48min ver.）が第20回サンティアゴ国際短編映画祭（チリ）、第3回ペロポネソス国際映画祭（ギリシャ）コンペティション部門に正式招待される。

Graduated from the Film Editing Course in the Department of Film at Eizo Techno Academia.
In 2022, the mid-length film “Softening… Breath.”—based on extensive research and depicting both the light and shadow of child guidance centers—was released nationwide in Japan. At Pole Pole Higashinakano in Tokyo, the film recorded sold-out screenings day after day following its release, generating a strong public response.
The feature film “Lost Serenade” (Director / Screenwriter / Editor), released nationwide in 2016, portrays the reality of sexual violence and attracted significant media attention, including a special feature on NHK. The film was also officially selected for the International Competition at the 32nd Warsaw International Film Festival, where its artistic merit was highly acclaimed.
His second feature film, “Remiges” (Director / Screenwriter / Editor), depicting children raised under parental abuse, won the Best Picture Prize in the International Competition section of the 14th Jeonju International Film Festival (South Korea), renowned for showcasing high-quality artistic works from around the world. The film was theatrically released on June 22, 2013, at Ikebukuro Cinema Rosa and 16 theaters nationwide, receiving strong audience response.
His debut feature, “A Warm Ray of Light” (Director / Screenwriter / Editor), was officially invited to the 14th Shanghai International Film Festival (China), one of the world’s leading film festivals.
In addition to these works, he continues to create films addressing pressing social issues such as youth homelessness, dysfunctional families, gambling addiction, special adoption, and the challenges faced by foreign workers.

[Career Overview]
While performing in shows at a theme park, he attended film school and studied filmmaking.
In 2005, he participated in the Japan–Germany Young Filmmakers Exchange Workshop, where he studied film directing techniques based on Method theory under German film director Florian Gallenberger.
In 2006, his short film “hard cold greenhouse,” created through an outline-based script and extensively rehearsed improvisational performances, carefully portraying the realities of youth homelessness, was officially invited to the 18th Dresden International Short Film Festival (Germany) and selected for multiple film festivals in Japan.
In 2007, he directed and wrote the short drama series “Flowers” (mobile drama for docomo/au “Vision Cast”), set in a flower shop where customers’ personal struggles are resolved through the meanings and symbolic language of flowers.
In 2009, he made his commercial film directorial debut with the short omnibus film “The Best and the Worst Man: Tsukiji Edition – Tsukiji Style,” supervised by Joji Iida and starring Kazuki Kato. The film follows a socially withdrawn man who aspires to become a sushi chef and reconnect with his estranged mother.
In 2010, his first feature film “A Warm Ray of Light” (Director / Screenwriter / Editor), set in Fukushima, delicately portrays the emotional exchange between a pension owner burdened by a tragic past caused by caregiving exhaustion for his father, and a college student who has lost her place in life and begins working there as a live-in employee. The film was officially invited to the 14th Shanghai International Film Festival (China), one of the world’s major film festivals, as well as the 6th Camera Japan Festival and the 6th Leiden International Film Festival (Netherlands).
In 2012, the mid-length film “Remiges” (48 min version), depicting a one-night escape of a girl who has run away from a children’s care home (Mika Akizuki) and a mysterious boy (Junki Tozuka) searching for another version of himself, was officially selected for the competition sections of the 20th Santiago International Short Film Festival (Chile) and the 3rd Peloponnisos International Film Festival (Greece).
In 2013, he completed the feature-length version “Remiges” (88 min), expanded with a prequel. The film was nominated for the International Competition at the 14th Jeonju International Film Festival (South Korea), renowned for its focus on high-quality artistic cinema, and won the Best Picture Prize. It was also officially invited to the 21st Raindance Film Festival (UK) and the 15th Seoul International Youth Film Festival (South Korea). In Japan, it was theatrically released at Ikebukuro Cinema Rosa and 16 theaters nationwide, receiving strong audience response.
